Not until that afternoon.

“What exactly did she say?” Aaron demanded.

Michael placed a printed email on the desk.

“She’s requesting that the board preserve all records relating to your personal use of company resources, executive travel expenses, and any employment or compensation decisions involving Jasmine Cole.”

Aaron stared at the page.

Then he laughed.

It was a short, disbelieving laugh.

“She’s threatening me?”

“No.”

“Then what is this?”

Michael tapped the paper.

“It’s a formal preservation request from her attorney.”

Aaron’s smile disappeared.

“Her attorney?”

“Nathan Brooks.”

For the first time that afternoon, Aaron said nothing.
