My Mom Took the SUV Grandpa Bought for Me and Told Me to “Just Use Uber”—Then Sunday Dinner Exposed Everything

I listened.

“Your grandmother had left them a small property outside town.”

Grandpa paused.

“They agreed to sell it and divide the money.”

Mom suddenly whispered, “Dad.”

He continued anyway.

“Claire trusted your mother to handle the paperwork.”

My stomach tightened.

“What happened?”

Grandpa looked at me.

“Your mother convinced Claire to sign documents she didn’t fully understand.”

Mom’s eyes closed.

“She told Claire it was temporary.”

I stared at her.

“What was?”

“The transfer.”

Mom whispered the words.

“The property.”

Grandpa nodded.

“Your mother took control of it.”

I looked at Mom.

“Why?”

She didn’t answer.

Grandpa did.

“Because she thought she deserved it more.”
